Gen Z: Children as a Calling, Not a Cultural Expectation
A generation raised on self-optimization is quietly opting out of parenthood. As a Christian mother, I have thoughts, and they are not what you might expect.

Serenity in Our One is for women who are rethinking what motherhood, family, and fullness can look like.
At its heart, this space is rooted in raising and loving an only child. But it is also for women who are curious about one-child families, women considering motherhood, women who feel overwhelmed by the pressure to “do it all,” and women whose family story did not unfold the way they expected.
Some women choose one child with confidence. Some arrive here through grief, infertility, loss, age, health, finances, or circumstances they never planned for. Some are still wondering if motherhood has to feel as heavy and impossible as the world makes it seem. Others are simply trying to understand what life looks like inside a smaller family.
This space does not pretend that every path here is easy. For some, one child was always the dream. For others, it came with questions, grief, relief, guilt, peace, or a mix of all of it.
This space exists to say: one child can be enough. One family can be whole. One unexpected path can still be filled with joy.
Through faith, honest reflection, and intentional motherhood, this is a place to stop apologizing for the story God gave us and begin finding peace in it.
