Serenity in Our One

Our Story

How a family of three found wholeness, wonder, and a whole lot of grace.

"Raising an only child through faith, peace, and purpose—without apology.."

Chapter 01

Where It All Began

Two people. One prayer. A whole lot of hope.

My husband and I met through mutual friends, back when I had pretty much sworn off dating. My girlfriend convinced me to give him a chance, and somehow that one date became the beginning of our life together.

Looking back, I can see God’s hand in all of it. He sent me a man in a clean sedan, corduroys, and cowboy boots. Not exactly what I expected, but exactly who I needed.

What started as one date I had to be talked into became the beginning of our life together: marriage, family, and a love that feels steady, safe, and very much ours.

That was all just the beginning! My husband has been on his own journey too, and that is a story I plan to share more of with you in time.

Chapter 02

The Day Everything Changed

He arrived, and so did a new version of us.

Just after midnight on a Wednesday, Greyson made his dramatic entrance into the world by emergency C-section. It was scary and unexpected, but the moment we heard his first cry, everything changed. In an instant, our hearts grew bigger than we knew they could. Our life before him felt far away, and our new life as his parents began. Greyson's birth was the moment our world became brighter and more full of love than we ever imagined.

Chapter 03

Learning to Be a Family of Three

Small in number. Enormous in love.

We are three. We are whole. We are exactly what God intended. And the intentionality that comes with raising one child; the presence, the attention, the depth of relationship; has become one of the greatest gifts of my life.

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11
